Would “classic” be more like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Chicago, Sonny and Cher, Simon and Garfunkel… Huey Lewis and the News?

Nobody bought them the first time around. That’s why they are in the bin now for $5. As to why they are in the ‘Classic’ bin – ?

Most things have a buyer when the price is right ;-)

Bargain bin CDs in 2020 are pretty much for pluggers & hipsters. Just 2 flavors of flannel.

Britney Spears’ debut album was released in 1999, so after 21 years it technically could be considered a classic. As far as “nobody bought them the first time around”, a quick search shows that her first two albums sold a combined 44 million worldwide, with US sales alone at nearly 20 million.

In the same bin with Lawrence Welk and Liberacé for the same reason.

I was playing piano at a nursing home around 1987, and I played “The Sound of Music.” Afterward, a little old lady raised her hand and said “We don’t like this new stuff.”

No, more like Benny Goodman, Bing Crosby, Jimmy Reed…

Hank Williams Sr. & Jr., Willie, Waylon and the Boy’s, Charlie Pride, Johnny & June Carter Cash, Lorretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Reba McEntire, Conway Twitty, Emmylou Harris, Chet Atkins and Many More. Also Many Great Rock Classics,etc. as mentioned by TEMPLO S.U.D. It’s a Diverse World, Thankfully ! :-)

Because they’re a bargain? Because the store really, really needs to get rid of this inventory because fewer people buy CDs these days? Because not everybody considers Brittany Spears their mortal enemy—watch out, dude, I think she’s hiding in the next aisle with a machete!
