Eventually, Duffy will have catch some fish…

I thought Duffy carried a knife.

“Replace all of us……” She and her team must be working on the transition from human to anthro. Figure out a way to make the exchange from human to anthro balanced. No more randomness like huge or tiny so on and so on. On the other hand…….Duffy just landed dinner!!

Duffy vs the “angler fish” is hilarious as it plays out in the background! Classic comedy, just what you’d expect from Cardoodles…

Nice of Aaron to draw the different perspectives. It’s clear from the first frame that the topsider cannot see Duffy and his, um, “catch” Likewise for Wally in panel 3. But by panel 4, the topsider should start noticing something odd…

Meanwhile, the foreground conversation gets more interesting…

The Dawn of the New Human has such a ring to it!

Oh…jeez. They’re not going to put Topsider brains into MUTTs, are they? That’s harsh, even for them.

So, Duffy… How’s that “lucky” amulet Chick gave you working out?

I was right, that sea creature’s tongue is wrapped around Duffy’s throat. Poor cub can’t even scream. I wish the topsider would notice him thrashing around over there and do something! He’s behind Wally, so he can’t see him. And Dragoncat is right, where the heck is Alvin, the elephant? Pouting? Sleeping?

Duffy you still have claws, use them!

Somehow this reminds me of a scene from and Airplane! movie

Duffy is on his own until Wally and Spacesuit Girl quit their yammering. What a revolting development!

Pretty sure I would take my chances on changing.

Like I said, Duffy did a good catch – without rod. He just have to get it onboard. The Fish will be lunch and not Duffy.

I’ve been asking for nearly four years why that little bombshell, that there is no mutagenic virus, was being ignored… see the September 19, 2016 strip, if you’ve forgotten…

Is it just me, or does panel 2 read a bit odd? Shouldn’t Wally be saying “THEY already are…”? ;-)

Because of their incorrect premise, those people are responsible for the subjugation and death of many innocents.

Boy, this story has just turned darker!

So, this is the confirmation of what we learned awhile back. There is no mutagenic virus. So, what happened to everyone? Was this explained as well and I missed it?

So, if she knows there is no virus, why does she wear the suit?

Children?! I never would have guessed children….

Hey, Duffy, you caught it, you eat it.

There’s no way she can’t see that. Hard to tell if Duffy’s peril is purely comic relief. If it is, it kind of reminds me of that moment in every Scooby Doo, where the action stays with Scoob and Shaggy for a sight gag while Velma is straight-up laying out the key plot point for that episode.This is infinitely more thoughtful, though. :)

Since nobody else has asked yet, replaced with what, exactly?

Are they going to breach their suits and go full monster and hope they take a few anthros with them? Doesn’t seem plausible; they can’t claim the remains of the planet that way.

Upload/install themselves into incorruptible bodies e.g. cybermen? That’s within the bounds of the tech we’ve seen in the story.

I suppose I’ll have to keep reading and see.

Wonder what happens if you cross a topsider with an anthro?
