Patty appears!! She also appears to have gotten the worst of it, as Charlie Brown’s sweaty shirt lands all over her face and one of his shoes hits her on the head. We last saw Patty when she was trying to decide which food to serve at the testimonial dinner which Linus cancelled.
As a pitcher, I was like Charlie Brown. I’ve had world record home runs hit off me. Most burned up on re-entry; a few are still in orbit. I never pitched games; I pitched batting practice – for the other team.
As a batter I could have been playing against Charlie Brown. It didn’t matter where the ball was pitched, I would drill it straight back to the pitcher at about navel level – a 60 ft 6 in line drive. The pitcher usually caught the ball more out of self-defense than by attempting to make the play.

A little more to the left or right and this would have no longer been a family comic.

Well, our team’s play by play man always talks about hitting a rope saying “You could hang a week’s worth of laundry on that one!”

Charlie Brown must be putting some real power on that pitch to get that kind of reaction off the bat.
