Once Rupert Murdoch got his fingers into television broadcasting, the whole concept of impartial news reporting was turned on its head. He managed to convince the viewing masses that there was a great liberal media conspiracy and other broadcasters were misleading the public. Rupert’s News Corp. television and radio outlets were the right way to view the news – Objectivity be damned! The more vitriol, the more sensation, the more outrageous the views equaled more viewers and that meant more advertisers with more money to contribute to the Murdoch empire.
In the U.S.A., Faux Noise has become Trump’s brain. Fox News effectively controls everything that the Orange Emperor thinks and says on any subject.
I remember Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, Harry Reasoner and Howard K. Smith, Edwin Newman, and John Chancellor. What we have today doesn’t even begin to measure up to those men, who were giants in their field.

When Fox is your normal, reality will seem biased.

The problem today is that just reporting what a politician says is taken as a political slant.

News reporters, teachers, ministers and most celebrities kept their personal politics to themselves. Ah, the good old days.

My grade school principal was Cronkite’s aunt. She was kinda mean. I saw him once in NYC but didn’t get to talk to him.
