What kind of older brother are you anyway, Michael?

I am not sure I would call Michael or Elizabeth “grown children.

You don’t get paid to babysit your own sister

Way to Man Up to the situation and help out the family, Mike.

Ok. We pay.

You pay rent, buy and prepare your own food.

If I went out, I wouldn’t even leave my baby with my husband! The man was clueless! I blame his upbringing. No male hands-on care in that family, at that time. The next generation was much better at it.

I remember babysitting my little brother. My parents had a bad experience with a babysitter with my oldest sister, so after that, they kept it all “in-house”, with older siblings babysitting younger ones. My younger brother & I were extremely close because I watched him a lot.

Yup, kids are pretty much slave labor until their 18, as it should be. They get room and board and, if they are lucky, an allowance. So wash the car, mow the lawn, kill the spiders and smile. It may not get any better.

Sounds like my 17 year old son.

Since I was the oldest, I was the designated free every-single-danged-day baby sitter. I still carry a grudge.

Of course, they’re willing…
