Basically, Rita is still paranoid about Maxine. Although we haven’t seen her these last few days, we can assume that Maxine has been showing up with the same looks each day, hence Rita abandoning them.

In part, the stock market decline is due to worries about the possibility of a collapse of global supply chains. That would not be a good thing.
