My daughter had to go to Office Max for printer ink so she could keep working, she brought back Snickers Bars and we fell on them like starving tigers!
My license tags are due April 1st, so I’m going to try to register my car down here on line.Wish me luck.
World Flour Day. That’s another thing (along with sugar) we’re having a hard time keeping on our Walmart store shelves. It seems people figure on doing some baking while they’re staying home to avoid the coronavirus.
National Ravioli Day. We keep running that, too, along with other pastas and rice. We just got more in which was being stocked last night and the early morning shift will be stocking more groceries too. We even got in toilet paper (lots of it) and disinfecting cleaning wipes (not a lot).
To WDemBlk from yesterday’s comments – Walmart isn’t known for being good to its employees – Walmart. like any other employer isn’t perfect. There are things they could improve on. But I feel a lot of the negative views come from people who actually never worked there. I’ve been at Walmart for nearly 15 years (my anniversary is next week) and I’ve been treated with respect and I have never felt mistreated. It does depend a lot on your store manager. For a while, we were having troubles keeping store managers. One lasted only 3-4 weeks (we don’t know what he did to get fired that fast, but it must have been something bad). In between having our own store managers, we’d have to “borrow” a manager from another store. One of those “borrowed” managers was a real tyrant and we all hated him immensely. We were elated beyond all description when we got our own manager and he went back to his own store (though we pitied the associates at that store that they had to get him back. But hey – better them than us, right?). But all in all, I am very happy working at Walmart. My fellow associates are like family to me. That is something I never felt in any of my previous jobs. Walmart really is not the terrible place to work that people like to make it out to be. I’ve heard (and seen) things about other stores that are worse than anything we face at Walmart.

As always, our friend Scott Roeben over at VitalVegas.com has published an amusing (and, we don’t mind saying, instructive) post on Las Vegas-related activities that you can do at home during the long hours and days of this thing which can also now be frutiful. We like the suggestions on Lego skylines, stripper poles, and of course books. You can see the rest at VitalVegas.com/.
