Donā€™t answer if you donā€™t know the caller. If itā€™s important, theyā€™ll leave a message.

Isnā€™t that what the block button on the phone is for?

I still get a kick out of ā€˜entertainingā€™ those unknown callers with a bit of my own humor, making them believe theyā€™ve got ā€œa live oneā€ on the line..

I also do not like that I can not hold the phone up to my ear w/my shoulder like the old phones. Yea, yea, buy a headset-not.

If you donā€™t recognize the number, donā€™t answer. Even if it looks like a local cell number. They are all spoofs. If they want to talk to you, they will leave a voice mail.

Pluggers are the only ones who fall for scams because they are the only ones who pick up their phones when it rings.

We have NoMoRoBo ā€“ No More Robo. Comcast doesnā€™t charge for it, and even if they did, itā€™s worth it. And, as others have said, if you donā€™t recognize the name or number, donā€™t answer. If I do answer, I just start speaking in Cherokee.

If you dont know the number, and you do answer , do NOT say Hello. They are not allowed to say anything till you say, Hello. Usually have to say it twice before they/it do/does start talking If you donā€™t say hello and is a legitimate call the other person will say hello.

Perhaps thatā€™s why telemarketers are more abundant than ever: No one can slam the phone down on them anymore.

But you can block the caller if thatā€™s on your plan or in your phone. YMMV

When I am feeling my oats, Iā€™ll answer with a made up language (like Latke Gravis in the series Taxi): ā€œTrou shaad ya bene voush? Ah! Prekoye, deemaash?ā€
