I can see the point of having the TV jump up and down to depict a mindless fast-paced cartoon or action-filled drama, but it seems out of place for a nature documentary.

Relax Calvin, your Mother isn’t Alicia Silverstone.

It finally occurred to me to see if “gurgitate” is a recognized word. Turns out it isn’t, but “ingurgitate” is. Also “gurgitation”, although that has a meaning unrelated to regurgitate and ingurgitate.

Yes, I realize that nobody asked, and almost nobody else cares.

It may sound gross, but it’s better than where that hot dog really came from.

Well, I suppose if she doesn’t want to use ‘paper or plastic’ she has to get imaginative when bringing home the groceries.

That’s a pretty big plateful for a six year old. None of my kids at that age would eat a third of that.

My most fav meal growing up was not so lean ground beefs fried within an inch of it’s life mixed in with mashed potatoes and a can of cream corn.

That’s the same kind of response he elicits (on purpose) from Suzie at lunchtimes.

This would be especially poignant if mom’s name was “Robin”.

I’m surprised this would bother Calvin.

With that glop the Mom usually serves for dinner, I’d question it as well! I’m also reminded of when we were on vacation at Washington D.C., and at the Natural History Museum at the Smithsonian Institution, there was some video playing about animals being toxic to predators or something, and it showed a blue jay eating a monarch butterfly and then vomiting from the toxic fluids. My dad was pretty grossed out by that, but I knew it was coming since I read about how those butterflies are toxic to birds.

That’s a very good reason to learn to cook or at least help.

And, just like that, it all made sense. Kevin knew he was right all along. His reluctance about food was justified.
