Calvin should admit that CAD is a much nicer acronym than HIAMF-RF. “Calvin Smells like a baboon” is much better though: CS-LAB

That soulds so permanent, Hobbes. You’ll beat your sworn enemy itnto submission in 10 minutes and have him begging for mercy.

Good Morning, Marg, Mike & ♠Lonewolf♠!

Writing a coded message to himself, and then giving the plaintext to his sworn enemy. Might want to work on his tradecraft before he deploys his cunning strategies. Taking the initiative counts for something, though.

If anyone would know whether you smell like a baboon, Calvin, it would be a tiger. Maybe to Hobbes, all primates smell alike.

Of course it has to be plain text to Calvin.

Otherwise Calvin wouldn’t get the insult. Duh!

C.A.D. is a lot easier to pronounce than H.I.A.M.F.R.F.

Hobbes is taller and more complex than Calvin, but his acronyms are shorter and simpler.

Insults to your enemy that you want them to hear are best delivered uncoded.

Of course, this often happens in real life. We know who the real enemy is, but we fight with our “allies”. It’s like the devils, who all are against God, but who fight each other to rule in Hell. Or like Congress: they can’t rule alone, so they need each other–but they persist in fighting rather than in dealing with the real problems of the nation, like passing a budget before the fiscal year is half over.

What I LOVE about Calvin and Hobbes fighting is it shows what a tremendous imagination young Calvin has … because he’s making up both sides of the argument. Boy’s a genius.

Psychiatrist indeed - the first thoughts if either or both of Calvin’s parents were standing under the treehouse listening to this conversation. On the other hand, not too sure who the shrink should be treating…..

I would have thought Hobbes smarter than that! If you’re worried about your enemy breaking your “secret code” then maybe the best thing to do would be to not say out loud to your enemy exactly what it is!
