When I was a kid, the pediatrician recommended giving me a tablespoon of booze at bedtime to help with my insomnia. For years after I hit legal age, I’d forego drinking because it just tasted like medicine.
LOL, I remember tasting beer when I was little too and it put me off for life! My friends in Uni said “if you just keep drinking it, you’ll eventually like it”. I didn’t think it was worth it. Same with coffee. No amount of sugar would fix that taste.
My dad and I had this exchange when I was ten. I didn’t like it and still don’t. Also, the concept of an acquired taste is so weird to me. Like, who wants to go through the process of acquiring a taste, which is basically- drink something it’s already been established they hate, and keep doing it, until you like it, and it’s probably expensive.

Dad cracks me up. Sometimes he’s so over-the-top and then he gets so subtle.

I am over sixty and that is STILL my reaction to beer. Somebody should shoot the horse they got it out of.

Since he took a sip, he already didn’t trust his dad’s advice.

Sounds like when my grandpa told my dad + uncle “If you boys ever want to smoke, tell me and I’ll get you the biggest cigars in town.”

It is an acquired taste for sure. Especially if you’re drinking a Pilsner type of beer. I’ve always found those to be more than a little bitter…

My dad fed me beer when I was two…LOL. Oddly enough, the older I get, the less I drink alcohol.
