On another note, I was (re)watching Kill Bill the other day and the club scene (where Cottonmouth – O-Ren Ishii) was killed reminded me of our dear Chuck!
I took my driving test in an old Chevy Estate station wagon… that thing was HUGE!!!!!!!! Thank goodness parallel parking had just stopped being part of the test!
Sack could probably live with the bag in many locales nowadays, it is acceptable as it does act like a mask and in certain sports towns he would fit in. Chuck would have been quite welcome and a common sight in certain NFL cities/regions over the past decade like NY/NJ, Oakland, Cleveland, Detroit and sadly all across Florida as our 3 franchises including my Bucs have been for the most part inept since Tampa and Chuckie schooled the Raiders almost 20 years ago………
Growing up in New York City I remember going shopping with my mom. At the checkout station the cashier would take a large paper sack, write the price of each item in pencil, and then add up the figures without benefit of calculator. In this age of bar codes and no actual prices on anything that seems very remote indeed.
Poor Charlie Brown. With or without the sack, he’s still my hero! And it could be worse, he could be wearing a face mask during this time. _Have a great day everyone!
There was a ‘Pearls Before Swine’ where Rat decided to start wearing a paper bag to deal with how bad the world was going. Perhaps this story inspired Pastis?

In my case as a grocery store worker, I’d help put Mr. Sack in the station wagon… or put the perishable contents back in refrigerated shelves.

At least he’s self-aware of the benefits of the sack.

If CB went to the grocery store now a days, the clerk would want his five cents for the bag over his head.

Good for GoComics. I was afraid they would dump the ending of the Mr Sack arc altogether

Leave it on until camp is over. Do not tempt fate.

I’m thinking of leaving the comic now, while he’s on the good side. It kinda hurts to see him losing all the time.
