It’s amazing what kind of excuses you hear from kids like these.

Wait a minute arent teachers supposed to talk? Well i feel sorry for her

having worked in a theater that isn’t true, front enders ticket sellers/ushers and such and the bottom, tech theater, particularly unionized techies, are a separate elite that the actors and musicians depend on to make them look and sound great.

Don’t listen to them. They’re snobs.

Wait, did I wander into “Big Nate”? This seems like his kind of problem.

No we don’t. The pros know that without us, they would be naked, on a bare stage, in the dark.

Because I actually teach theater tech, I can train my actors to treat techs well, unlike the adult community actors of some of the companies!

Middle school, where the “pecking order” nonsense thrives. I’m certain that while there may be some drama, Heart will end up standing by Charlotte!

See I love this because I was a techie and as good as those actors are without us techies. if we decide to quit they got no show no matter how good of an actor they are! So Charlotte really has the power

Heart has a decision to make. Will she choose a snobby clique over the potential for a real friendship?

Wrong! Techies have a saying for hyper-egotistical actors, ‘without the lights, it’s just radio’.

Let the techs stop doing their thing…

I was in the pit orchestra. Bassoon and contra. Be nice or you’ll hear a “brown note” when you make your entrance.

Ever notice how you never hear of a famous movie star marrying an anonymous crew member like the boom operator or the dolly grip?

There will always be those that ‘think’ how great they are until they find out how great they are without that help. Cue the shenanigans.

Drama, need more drama. And bells. More cow bells.

And that, folks, is why I’m critical of specialized theater programs.
