Ok, this time I am definitely correct, Jon attempted to do this once, and Liz said she would change her name to Betty.

Then Jon finds out that her name is Elizabeth. Three syllable names are not that easy to pick on. And even longer names… you might get slapped!

My younger daughter is Elizabeth, and goes by Buffy. Her sister gave her the nickname, and no, it’s not for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (although they’ve both seen the show since). She has one friend who is allowed to call her Lizzie.

Jon – you truly don’t know how to quit when you’re ahead. You could have just said Liz had a great name and let it go at that. Instead you had to give her one more reason to re-think why she is interested in you in the first place.

I saw this as a "Liz, Liz, Bo-Biz, Banana Fana fo Fiz’ sorta thing.

I wonder if Jon will ever realize that Liz settled for him because she was certain he wouldn’t break her heart…
