Mimi took over Pasquale’s job in mumble speak.

They used baby talk with her as a baby and she thought that was how to talk, they should start correcting her.

People complain about the “mumble-speak”…but would also complain if someone as young as Mimi would speak perfect English. Personally, I think Mimi’s baby-speak is fine. (Side note: I also hate when parents enforce bad speech patterns, like when they laugh when a child mispronounces words.)
