It’s kinda funny that they are getting ready to Marty to die, and Nate in Panel 4 shows in funny, and kinda disrespectful way (but this is a comic so whatever) why he will die. Can’t Marty just lose weight so his own kids don’t tease him, cuz I can think the many ways Nate teases his dad.

Grim, maybe not a terrible idea. My dad and his siblings didn’t speak for years after my grandparents died. The fight over the estate was epic. And even when they started talking again, it was not friendly like it had been in the past.

Many moons ago, the three of them acted on an idea to save $$$$ on clothes, and. well, Nate drew the shortest straw……..

Ellen and Nate have got this backwards. Marty is the one who will choose what to leave to each person through his will, which means that they should be ingratiating themselves with him instead.

The current problem is children of boomers don’t want their parents personal items(save money,house) so unless they are Eames chairs who would want a 40 year old chair,books,CDs.

Hi there. This is the “grim reaper’s” little brother. the reason he hasn’t been commenting is because he passed away last month from the virus. I just thought you should know. Thanks.

When my mother-in-law died she had a trust already drawn up the split everything down the middle with the two daughters. I handled closing out all the bank accounts and investments, my sister-in-law handled the sale of the home. Only glitch was when I was at the bank they told me I couldn’t close one account as it was a new account with the sister’s name on it. Couldn’t even tell me what was in it. So I asked them to show withdraws from the main account. $40K was used to start it. Called sister and asked what was left and she said it was almost empty, I told her that 40K was in it a month ago and she needed to show where it went. Well she eventually admitted there was 30K still in it. So yes the long knives come out when a parent dies and at least one child will try to cheat the rest.

When our son was fourteen, he was teasing me about getting old. I brought him over to the dining room mirror and said, “This is you in forty years.” We still laugh about that.
