This is getting to be pretty funny. Intentionally funny, which is another huge improvement over the last few years, where we laughed at the strip, instead of with it.

WOW….that must be something truly shocking to make Dick Tracy have THAT reaction……

I assume that his baby has a face that only a mother could love.

I think back to the Seinfeld episode, “The hamptons”, season 5 episode 21 with the focus on their friends ugly new baby which aired on May 12, 1994.

I can only guess that way back when, B.O. struck a deal with the Lord of Darkness to ensure that his firstborn child would be incredibly beautiful, and now his Lordship has decided to claim his half of the bargain.

We’re going into the last story posted on Staton and Curtis’ old site, which was cut off at the point where the baddie was trying to escape Tracy. I’m glade we’ll finally get to see the ending.

I don’t remember we ever get to see the baby’s face, just a lot of comments about it’s being too ugly to show. We don’t see it next week.

Actually, it might be even more likely that the baby resembles the Brow! As I recall, he and Gertie did spend some quality time together…

As I recall, 9 months to the day of The Plenty’s wedding, Sparkle was born. BO took Tracy by surprise whan he whispered it to him. I may have to get out my books and look that one up!

Does anyone remember the Li’l Abner sequence where they were introducing Lena Hyena, the most ugly person on Earth? Al Capp finally did show her. Marvelously ugly. It so reminds me of this Dick Tracy sequence.

Today’s story is so well written, I’m impressed with the entertianment value with no “action”. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!

The humor is great here. It wouldn’t be funny in real life but it fits with the DT universe, where almost everyone has a look that’s, er, distinctive.

Interesting that both arcs have started out with some humor (the nauseated flight attendant).

Maybe it’s faceless, i.e. another “The Blank.”
