The other pygmies didn’t like that leader anyway, he was always cussing them out and leading them into hairy situations.

Great way to make friends out in the middle of nowhere and those “pygmies” appear much larger than they should compared to the ostriches. Let’s see how many more Tarzan can kill before he’s captured and taken to the devilishly seductive Queen!

The ostriches say, hey we don’t know how to do this kind of stuff, and run off in fifty different directions.

Yes, killing their leader for no reason would probably cause the ostrich riding pygmies to endure great annoyance and displeasure.

Actually, that works against most armies – kill the leader and the soldiers don’t know what to do, or run and hide. Helps if they don’t know who shot the leader, though.
