I’ve always left the lid down. But it’s especially important if you have cats, because they sometimes waterboard their toys (Spencer does this in the cat fountain) or just want to play in it.

Welcome to the real world. The COVID-19 virus has been found in surface water because of wastewater and sewage discharges. The virus was detected even after sensitization treatment before discharge into the environment, I think.

I wish I could forward this comic to everyone I know. I think I’m the only one who puts the lid down. If I’m somewhere else, I put it down, but they never take the hint.
