PS – I admire anyone who can play it, and for that matter anything. No music genes passed on to me. I play ‘applause’ and was told players appreciate my ‘talent’.

Trombone is a fun instrument, but when I played in school, I was too small to push a lot of air through it!

A similar thing happened when I loaned my chainsaw to a neighbor…

Thank you, Lennie! I think I’ve told you before that my father played the trombone in the USNA band.. I’m missing him today, but this made me smile. A lot :)

“You push the little valve down…and the music goes ‘round and around, oh ho, and it comes out HERE!” (Or does that song reference a French horn? LOL). -Trombone, trumpet…I’m in awe of how much music one can play with 3 little valves! (Piano player here with 88 keys at her disposal). LOL

Some things are hard to learn on your own. We all need teachers. Happy Father’s Day ~~ some of the best teachers.

Not a brass guy (guitar) but I love passing the love of music onto the kids. Awesome work on your part Lennie.

Admittedly if someone has no idea about a trombone, they wouldn’t know about the slide… Maybe the parents didn’t tell him to avoid him breaking it? (devil’s advocate here…)

I play bassoon, contra bassoon, tenor and bari saxes. And my girls would rather play strings, viola, cello and after watching a performance of Esperanza Spalding, I think one of them wants to start the bass. Strings!!!! Oh the shame!!!! But at least neither has shown interest in brass. (JOKE)

Nice toon. I was going to say, a bagpipe you don’t ‘play’ is just a whoopie cushion.

Trombone is my favorite brass instrument. It sounds so sexy. I play flute, piccolo, a little piano and sing coloratura but I just love the sound of a trombone, especially in Dixieland jazz.
