My wife gets her groceries delivered, but I am more fussy. I have to go out for fish, I mean how can you tell what’s freshest unless you see it? I can get most of my veggies in an open-air farm stand. But I still go to a grocery store about every two weeks, one where I know they disinfect the carts, have hand sanitizer available, and everyone wears a mask.
I’m glad the rush on toilet paper and paper towels ended. We always have a lot of both at our Walmart now. We’re even starting to get more of the disinfecting wipes, though they still remain in short supply and the sell out quickly.
National Hydration Day. If it stops raining, I’ll be in my garden in the morning (I hope to put in an hour or two getting weeds out of the watermelons & squash) and I will be sure to keep hydrated.
National Pecan Sandies Day. I love cookies, but I don’t think I’ve ever tried these, even though they’ve been around for a long time. Maybe I need to try them.
2. A 30 second clip of a cat watching a horror movie is the funniest thing I’ve seen this year. Turn the sound up to hear the movie. And watch her pupils. Lol (Sound on!)
Finally, finally, finally — our farmers market is opening Saturday. I can’t wait for fresh berries. I dream of those little strawberries bursting with flavor, so different from those horror-movie gigantic strawberries with no flavor I find in the grocery stores. So many good things I am looking forward to. I will probably get carried away and buy way too much.
The zoo near me is opening next week. I cant wait. I used to walk through there every day and I miss my animals.
I work for a company that manufactures toilet paper and home cleaning products. Life here at work went rather crazy for a few months. We’re still churning it out as fast as we can, but at least the frantic, rush-rush-rush feeling is subsiding.
I think all that toilet paper hoarding was ridiculous. It didn’t really help anything. If anything, it probably made things worse! Still, you can’t blame people for being worried. On another note, saw a towhee, a rabbit and a robin while out walking today. I also saw two Stellar’s jays, a Wilson’s warbler and a sparrow outside.
I spent the day trying to assist my 3 neighbors and daughter, Sarah, in catching 5 pigs roaming the neighborhood (for 4 days). They finally were able to cut my fence, get them into my pasture (my donkey had been moved into my back yard and was running around the fence line like crazy because she thought they were dogs and coming to kill her) (remember Rottweilers did kill her sister in October) eventually they got the 3 white pigs and 2 black pot bellied pigs into my back stall of the barn. Then my neighbor to the north, went to town, got fencing supplies, put up a pen for them…went to get a horse trailer from his folks and loaded the pigs and put them in their secure pen. Tinker, the donkey is still exhausted from her running and isn’t moving. Sarah had finally gotten a halter on her about 1 pm, and sat under a tree with her for 4 hours getting her calmed down. This all started at 8 am and they were gone and secure by 5 pm.

We get our groceries delivered from Target. They have all the TP you’d want.

Which reminds me, I really must put toilet paper on my shopping list. I only have a few rolls left.
