Bears drive Citroen 2CV’s?!?!?

Oh come on… now he’s taking a nap?

Oooooo! I was that bear twice on my way to work yesterday! Well, I’m pretty sure those 2 cars that didn’t move when the light turned green were not being driven by cats, but they sure took their time moving when the lights turned green. They were probably texting or something.

I was late for work yesterday. Shame on me! It was worth it, though. I was on a waiting list for strawberries from a local grower and although he didn’t expect to have berries for me on Thursday, he got more than he expected so he called me about 10 minutes before I was planning on heading to work. His farm is five and a half miles from my place. Well, I wasn’t going to urn down the chance to get berries, so I rushed right over there and got 8 quarts of berries (I’ll see if Mark wants a quart or two of those). I could have saved time by driving to work from the strawberry farm, but that would have meant leaving the berries in my hot car all day, and I didn’t want to do that. So I took the berries home, grabbed my lunch to take to work and headed out. I was only 15 minutes late and I used my protected paid time off so I don’t get a tardy on my record and I get paid for the time I missed. I had a bowl of berries first thing when I got home from work and they sure were good!

Today is:

National Coconut Day. Not for me. I HATE coconut!

National Beautician’s Day

National Chocolate Pudding Day. I love chocolate pudding, but strawberries are all the dessert I need for the next several days.

National Take Your Dog to Work Day.

These slow pokey cats. I just can’t bear it any longer !!

Trying to stay socially distant, there seem to be many dawdlers that manage to find the bottlenecks and just stand there. I understand that the elderly need to walk slowly, but when they just stop and chat…..

I’m looking forward to seeing what other animals drive.

Bears in cars up in the Mammoth Mountain area are no joke. Idiots leave food in their cars and the bears rip the door open or break a window. I see photos on FB each year – doors hanging half off or on the ground, seats ripped apart. An empty coffee cup or gum wrapper is as much an invitation as a bag of groceries. Warning signs everywhere. It’s a huge fine on forest service property such as a trailhead, plus car rentals are nearly non existent. Good luck with your insurance company!

We had thunder, lightning, wind and rain yesterday afternoon, and the temps dropped nearly 20 degrees within an hour!!! We’ve been in the middle of a hundred degree heat wave, it was all very exciting and welcomed. Rose? Looked like it headed your way.

For all you know, there’s a pedestrian lying in the crosswalk. Patience is 95% of city driving. You might get there a little later, but you’ll get there.

Could be worse, at least that bear isn’t behind a skunk! On another note, saw a sparrow and a robin outside. I also saw a junco while out walking today.
