Willard’s side job of polishing saddles paid almost as much as his court jester gig, and he didn’t have to hurt his face smiling while he was doing it.

Pietro found it hard to rein himself in, so he fitted his saddle with a brake. Things are different in the wild, wild west of Italy. They don’t just horse around!

Antonio truly missed his horse Buster. They had been together for over twenty-five years, fought in three campaigns against the French and Buster had saved his life on numerous occasions. He and Buster had been awarded the Gold Cross by King Ferdinand for outstanding bravery and leadership. Buster died last week and Antonio had found it so hard to let go. He missed that horse terribly. It was so sad. But on the bright side, Antonio had to admit Buster made the best stew he and the guard had had in years.
