Sometimes this is a very good idea. I have a āgrandnieceā who is a brilliant kid but autistic who completely freaks if anybody in her family wears a mask. She has enough trouble āreadingā facial expressions and body language under normal conditions. It isnāt much, but even a āsmiley faceā helps a little bit.

You can tell if a person is smiling when they are wearing a mask. You canāt do a good smile without involving your whole face.
On the other hand, you canāt tell when someone is sticking their tongue out at you.
