There may be rough waters ahead

My wife can be a marathon phone talker. Yesterday she talked to her sister for an hour and a half – they hadn’t spoken for a whole week. She probably only spends an hour a day scattered about multiple calls with her other sister.

I used to like to drive with her because it would separate her from the phone. Then came the cell phone and worse, unlimited minutes.

I do not like to talk on the phone. Nonetheless, once a week I call my sister and my cousin. My sister usually has a “talker” on and we can talk for about an hour. My cousin takes after her mother who was very cost conscious back in the day when long distance calls cost a lot. She tends to get off the phone in about 15 minutes.

I’ve also gotten in a very bad habit of walking and talking while I am on the phone. I can’t sit and talk. I’ve often had to say, “Wait a minute, I have to get back into the house to get a pencil and paper.” Conversations with my sister and cousin rack up over one mile on my FitBit.

I do not like talking on the phone! PERIOD! Cell I hate! I have two people who call me and never take a breath in between sentences and one calls me after 9:00 PM! I now don’t even answer after 7:00! When emails and texts came to exist, I jumped for joy….however, the two I mentioned don’t like emails and texts! I tell them to get with the times….

Those two were made for each other.

Some couples/marriage counselor is going to be able to afford nice vacations from this couple

Seeking help early may just save this marriage from ever happening.

I’ve heard of couples going to pre-marital counseling, but this is ridiculous.

I see they’re starting to get serious about their relationship.
