Unless weā€™re about to see a really strange villain, he probably isnā€™t equipped to handle maternal instincts!

Iā€™m liking the vehicle designs. And Iā€™m not even bothered by the fact that no crime has been committed, because I feel confident that all of this is leading somewhere.

When I saw the medical staffing running and screaming at the hospital, it reminded me of the 1974 movie - ā€œItā€™s Aliveā€

In short, the movie plot was : The Davies expect a baby, which turns out to be a monster with a nasty habit of killing when itā€™s scared. And itā€™s easily scared.

    Read the plot at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itā€™sAlive(1974_film)

see the movie trailer at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA3iusK4p78

Could this be a simliar story to the 1974 movie!!!!!

Do any of you remember this cult flick????

    Safeway674 -

I remember that flick, and it was an excellent horror movie. Yet another that Hollyweird shouldnā€™t have tried to make 3-5 sequels with.

Here is a pic of the baby from Itā€™s Alive.

WARNING! This is one ugly baby.

I really hope the Plentyā€™s baby doesnā€™t look like that!

Not to change the subject, but wasnā€™t Sunny Dell Acres located under a highway overpass?

    Iā€™m glad it isnā€™t anymore, btwā€¦

SUNNY DELL ACRES (panel 1) ! Well I guess, thatā€™s the first soft elbow on Locherā€™s favorite depiction of the Plenty home, one which by virtue of repetition seemed like a pasteup photocopy panel when you noticed that every little art ā€˜squigleā€™ was repeated in every one of them.

Reason for retention was that it was DRAWN by late son John - and so to speak, effectively a third ā€œin stripā€ MEMORIAL, after the character likeness in new Junior and the Sunday Rubber Ducky symbol

Here it is in all itā€™s GLORY. Donā€™t mind the ā€˜credit nameā€™, the ORIGINAL which appeared in an earlier strip was ā€˜signedā€™ by JOHN LOCHER.

    http://www.gocomics.com/dicktracy/2006/04/12/

I havenā€™t a problen with a loving father grieving for his son, but enough is enough,(we have MEMORIAL in ā€˜triplicateā€™ HERE), and there is a point beyond which it loses a sense of subtlety, becomes borish and is too much ā€˜in your faceā€™ !

And no Matty, (I KNOW you are reading this), I donā€™t HATE Locher, just think he let his emotions push him into foolishness.

Hey, is that a young Quenten Tarantino driving Hot Rize? Sure looks like himā€¦

    Really love the art!

And I have NO idea where this story is going (other than the worldā€™s worst Motherā€™s Day family photo).

This goes way backā€¦I think there was a country music TV show that featured Flatt and Scruggs, sponsored by Martha Whiteā€™s Self Rising Flour. Lester and Earl would sing the jingle, which ended, ā€œItā€™s got Hot Rise.ā€ Oh yeahā€¦ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FgpQyk5ibw

    (if you like this genre).

I had no idea that John Locher drew Locherā€™s Sunny Dell Acres. Itā€™s a beautiful rendering, but it did look more like a mansion rather than a redneck dwelling. Mr Statonā€™s is much better.

Ray C, I loved it! I had to try and find the song you were talking about and found it here:

I also found this animated clip for Martha White Corn Meal:

Now if I could only get the Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, and Green Acres themes out of my head (grin)
