Foreshadowing?

I haven’t read this strip in ages, can someone fill me in on why there’s a dinosaur?

I doubt Verne could “run” into anything.

The La Brea Tar Pits were a bit of a disappointment, but the museum was good.

I think there’s a callback to the movie in there.

In suburbia, tar pits are called “swimming pools.”

If he has never once run into a tar pit, has he run twice (or more?)

The operative word being “run”.

Dinosaur can be explained IF you can explain Covid.

At the risk of being accused of “taking the strip too seriously” again, I could point out that in reality George the T Rex (Cretaceous period) and Steve the Stegosaurus (Jurassic period) would have never met since they lived millions of years apart. On the other hand, if a talking T Rex can time travel to the present, I guess anything’s possible.

Well, my friend, you have to go back to earlier strips where the trio went back in time and met George. He was very huge until he came back with them (he was then shrunk down to fit the strip by them) since then, he appears every so often and looks cool wearing his little sombrero :)

George is an excellent addition to the strip, he’s freaking awesome and I love that he wears a Sombrero :)
