    the lawn guy came by yesterday. after he was done I noticed the grass wasn’t any shorter. called him up and asked him about it. “Darn IT,” he said, I hate when I forget to pull the cord!! All that work for nothing!"

    That was the punch line of a popular commercial a few decades ago, for Aamco muffler chain (I think). The independent installer, with a Peter Lorre-like voice, promised to make his Rube-Goldberg-looking transmission fit.
