The times they are a-changin’. Once CV-19 is considered handled, some new patterns will likely be retained, Many will still attend group classes while others might prefer virtual learning. School and college expansion plans might shrink. [A definite need at some bloated campuses.] Some employees will want to return to cubicles, while others will work remotely, so the amount of leased office space will be reduced. Office and school politics will see drastic changes. Gonna be interesting, like it or not.
I went on Google maps recently and checked out the distance to the school I went to. It was within a couple of feet of a half mile. It was a Catholic School and we had to go to mass every school day. Every day we would walk home for lunch since the school did not have a lunch room, so that was another round trip.
On First Fridays, we had to get up early, go to church, receive communion, then come home for breakfast. So that was three round trips. So, yeah, three miles and sometimes in the snow.
Memories.. to develop the stories the survivors will tell their children.. Walking is already a foreign concept and means nothing to the current generation.. they will regale stories of surviving COVID.. Shootings.. Pollution.. Tear gas…. trump
‘"May you live in interesting times." Is no doubt a curse that has fallen on humankind.
It has existed since we first walked upon this earth, we have always moved from one crisis to another. We suffer one disturbance and shock after another and it shall always be so. There is just enough separation from each occurrence that our short term memory loss always gives us some hope that it will be the last. It won’t, be we never lose hope.

Don’t forget your bulletproof backpack kid. So many guns, so little mental health care, what could go wrong?

A kid-sized face shield should be more user friendly.
