Canât explain the phases of the moon, but could probably tell you off the top of his head the MLB MVP on second base in 1967⌠sounds like another once-proud honor student from our venerable publick school system
Itâs easy to demonstrate. Cup your hands so they cover half a light bulb. Now look at it from different angles and itâll look like phases of the moon. Thatâs what the moon looks like and as it turnsâŚ.
And now for that part of the show where we look at those three little words men find so hard to say. âI Donât Know!â Here is my uncle Red Green and his best friend in the whole wide roomâŚ
I was watching the weather channel the other day and they mentioned that the huricane/tropical storm approaching Florida will have higher tides than usual becase itâs a full moon. Now Iâve heard this for ever but always wondered⌠since the moon is always the same size why does the amount of light reflected from it make a difference. If they had said because the moon is closer in itâs orbit that would make sense. Is the moon only closest when itâs full?

Why?
Itâs really difficult to explain that only with words; maybe if Gary threw in some drawings concerning the matter?

Because its better than feeding Elliot a load of crap that he might go on believing.

Now if Elliot asked âwhy does the moon have phasersâ Pete could give a Star Trek answer that Elliot could relate to!

Why? The moon draws a curtain so it can clean itself once a month.

3 more wordsâŚGooâŚgleâŚit. (Thought of saying âLook it upâ, but to me âGooâŚgleâŚitâ did a better job of conveying her exasperation.

âMy friend the Doctor says the moon is made of apple pie,
And once a month is eaten by the sun;
And that is why, up in the sky, youâll find as every month goes by
Somebody up in the skyâs makinâ another one.â
Doctor Doolittle (1967)
