Maybe I’m part hermit, but I loved being a stay at home mom. Especially on nasty winter days when coping with the outside world just meant looking out at it.

My hat is off to parents. The very last action in the fourth panel is a reminder to me that some of us are just not cut out for it.

Well, Elly started out in a good place, but it all went downhill from there.

My brother and sister were 15 and 10 years older than I. They had to leave the house at 7 a.m. to catch the school bus and I don’t think they ever knew that poor hardworking mommy hightailed it back to bed as soon as they were out the door, while I stayed up to watch Dave Garroway and J. Fred Muggs. And frequently “rested her eyes” while her stories [soaps] were on.

Hey, at least you have baby and a dog.

Oh, what’s wrong, Elly? Don’t you have someone there on whom to DUMP ALL YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!?

Elly – don’t you know better than to hold a baby without a burp cloth?

Just think, some day this will be a happy memory of the good old times when things weren’t that messed up.

Heh. We’re both counting down the days when both kids get out of our house and out on their own!
