We have† a Corian countertop and sink. The sink is a pastel color. When the sun’s just so, if I open the cabinet below the sink, it’s well lit by the light through the sink, which I now think is kinda nice, once I figured out what the heck was going on.
† The Corian came with the house. It’s really not what we prefer (it’s very easy to scratch, hard to keep it clean and looking nice) but replacing it isn’t in the budget any time soon.
I used to get frustrated with my bathtub. I scrubbed at a ring which wasn’t even there (we never draw baths) until I realized it was the contour of the tub casting a shadow.
I have known of a couple of people to do that. One dealt with sunlight mixed with wood grain. The other tried to scrape off sunlight and layered linoleum. Those little spots and dots can be very deceptive especially when looking through artificial lenses.

It isn’t funny when you get old and you can’t see as well as you used to. Handy sometimes though – you can’t see all the dust.

I relate. I have Macular Degeneration and I often try to pick up spots of sunshine on my carpet. It’s not senior moments, it’s old age.

That was a 3 Stooges bit from Sing a Song of Six Pants, made in 1947. Pickles – you’re stealing Intellectual Property. :)

I misplaced my partial dentures. Still haven’t found them, and I live alone! No one else to blame.

Many years ago when my hubby was in boot camp, he spent a day sweeping the sunlight off the sidewalk……..

My sister-in-law did that with a shadow on the carpet and even yelled at her kids about it. Went right to the top of family lore.
