When reality doesnât fit your view of the worldâŚ
why should you change your view of the world when you can forcibly try to change reality. Until the next rain or someone points out you cheated. Fortunately you can have people who point out such inconveniences arrested. After all , what are the police and the justice department for if not for that.
I think it was a âCitizen Dogâ cartoon in which someone is painting a landscape, doesnât like the composition, so pulls up and throws away an intruding bush.
(Great strip. Ended long ago but still brilliant in GoComics reruns.)
Reminds me of Weâre painting the roses red, the Queen she wanted red, we painted white instead, If she finds out sheâll have our heads, weâre painting the roses red.

At least heâs just âremodelingâ the tree; imagine if he had painted the sky the wrong shadeâŚ

Adding a splash of color to the leaves while theyâre still on the tree may be a bit more difficult, though:-)

Iâve noticed that reality frequently fails to conform to my drawings of it. But I admit that this approach hadnât occurred to me.

It might be easier if Horace increased his palette, but this works. Made me laugh, so itâs all good.

At least he got th e angle right. Many naive artists assume all trees grow straight.

Look at trees and youâll see that their trunks are actually gray, not brown.

Apparently they once decided to blow up a large boulder than reprint all the maps that was missing it.
