Hot Rize has turned out to be a hot head….she’ll soon learn that it’s a major mistake to shoot it out with Dick Tracy….the graveyard is full of markers thanks to his lethal skills with a gun.
Hot Rize quickly climbs into the hopperTo escape from the dreaded copperA fatal error, of that I am sureIt will be more than she can endureThe ladders rungs on the outsideGave ingress to a place to hideBut the inside walls are quite slickThis was the wrong place to pickA criminal mastermind she was notWe knew soon she would be caughtA new day begins and within an hourShe will be smothered by tons of flourHer body will then be dropped in a bagThere to receive a little toe tagAnother criminal meets a grisly endBecause her evil ways she wouldn’t mendHer dreams were just pie in the skyDoomed to go awryShed no tears for this little flour childHer deeds are only to be reviled.Thank you, BillT, Ray C, DetDD., from the other dayThank you, margueritem.
Nicely Done wndrwrthg!I have a feeling this is the first and last story arc for Ms. Hot Rize can’t see going in that hopper being a good idea.Still wondering if Tony Rockyhorror is going to join the Pouch in DT villians whom got away.
Tracy and Sam in action together! Well done! There was a glitch yesterday when I put in a comment – I hope the creative team had a chance to see what I wrote, because I wanted to compliment them .
@heligmyer – it does go boom, that was a home school experiment. Flour and lighted candle in the bottom of a canister. A small hole to admit a ball inflator needle. A quick pump to blow the flour in the air and BOOM! The lid flies off.
Good thing this story wasn’t written last year! Hot Rize would find the flour bin already occupied! The giveaway would be the drippings out of the bottom.
@jumbobrain You should have seen the strip in the old days, when Chester Gould was doing it. Tracy did a lot in those strips, with shootouts at the drop of a hat.
WW: Been awhile but another good one. To me it doesn’t look like she is in the hopper, otherwise she couldn’t see them to shoot. Also I don’t think there are ladders on the inside of them.
As always, Joe’s layouts are dynamic…and the quiet moments are also captured perfectly. Mike’s dialogue and pacing are brilliant as well. Chester Gould is surely resting easy.
Joe and Shelley have just recently been supplied with reference photos for guns used by Tracy and the other members of the MCS. They are armed with Sig Sauer P226 handguns. This strip was done before the artist had any reference photos to work with. The guns used are called A gun, and manufactured by Joe Staton imagination. (grin) Don’t worry, the guns will start looking very realistic and recognizable in later strips. If you like anime and guns I suggest watching Hidan no Aria.
More accurate firewear will begin appearing soon, courtesy of our liasion Jim Doherty. From years of doing SPIDER-MAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE and GREEN LANTERN, Joe is more used to drawing power rings and web shooters. I even plan to do some gun research myself, although I do not do the art.
And Hot Rize may rise again—if she’s full of yeast.
Kind of bad writing when the villain starts shooting so quicklyso I hope this is not a trend where every time Tracy goes toquestion a suspect the suspect starts shooting. I want to see Hot Rize in a bikini before she dies, tho.

OK. So what if (a) the “empty” hopper has flour dust floating around in it, and (b) you fire a gun from inside it. Would that lead to © KABOOM!!?

Sounds like me old grands biskets.
I still have a deformed toe, where one fell on it, and broke it as a wee baron ;)
