A very short story.

That’s an EXCELLENT essay subject, because you get to do (almost) anything at all ! And points for style, right? I spent my summer not getting a tan, not going to Tahiti or the Mediterranean, not learning to be a 5 star chef and not rebuilding a 1962 MG. Unfortunately, I also spent the summer not reaching my weight goal…

…and to think that I saw it on Mulberry Street.

I am spending the summer getting the education of summer not officially ending until September 20th, fall equinox; therefore, I’m still living in and enjoying my summer.

Poignant comment on the new normal for schools.

I normally do not criticize a comic, but I can’t help doing so today. The cat is in the wrong place. A cat is always in front of a computer and on the keyboard. JS

The challenge is not what your didn’t do, but what you managed to get done instead.

I spent the summer not eating at a restaurant, (You can have the food delivered, but it loses points on atmosphere) not going to a movie theater, not watching first run TV programs, and not going to the gym. (Bought an exercise elliptical, due here on Friday.) I have discovered the charms of Netflix and HULU.

Get up, send chosen GoComics to friends, meditate for at least 20 minutes, walk at least 9 holes of golf, workout with weights, read a book for about 60 minutes, practice Spanish on Duolingo, after dinner walk dog down to the beach for sunset. Depending on the tide, I’ll snorkel for about an hour. People ask all the time, aren’t you bored since you retired?

Sophia may end up being a survivor having done little and studying at home.

I virtually did a lot of things.

My essays always started with “My family is poor so…” before listing my trips to the library and what books I read.

Didn’t kill Grandma.
