At least the chief knows that vampires don’t exist (as I think everyone does). Today we learn that blood loss through her neck is part of what leads to the “vampire” description (plus the pair of puncture marks).

The score is two days of Brenda and one day of Tracy so far. I’m going to be giving updates on that.

Just FYI, Faith Brown is a retired British actress, perhaps most famous for her impressions of Margaret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister. I’ve been enjoying Joe Staton’s art since E-Man, but it has never looked better than when inked by Shelley Pleger. What phenomenal work! It’s so good that I had to mention it at least once.

The patrol officers thought Ms. Brown hadn’t been dead very long when they found her? What did the ME’s office say? Wouldn’t it be SOP for someone from that office come check the apparent body, and, do an preliminary examination, before taking her to the Tracy County equivalent of The Robert J Stein Institute of Forensic Medicine (bka the morgue)?

Hang on. So that cloud of gas that appeared around the vampire in the earlier strips wasn’t indigestion but – A CLOUD OF CHLOROFORM! COOL! What. No? Never mind…

this is more gory than tracy will want to get, but it’s kind of important to the plot. she died of blood loss, but was she left in a pool of it or did it get removed?

Obviously Honey Moon and Annie didn’t write the story or Chief Patton would have mentioned their names. Come to think of it Carl Kolchak’s naysayers were often the police.

What are the odds that this storyline will continue up to Halloween? Instead of “you’re under arrest” Tracy and company will use the phrase “trick or treat”.

“This story is ridiculous.” Sometimes the best critics of a story are the characters themselves.

You can’t say Tracyville isn’t cultured, with a whole Museum District.

That’ll show you guys who think the museum district is so much better than the abandoned warehouse district.

Poor Faith Brown, died so young she wasn’t even around long enough for us to learn her name while she was still alive.

We don’t know what the artificially fanged Professor Stokes does with his victim(s) besides kill them. Did he drink some or most of Faith’s blood? Did he kill her and just leave her lying there in The Museum District to bleed out? —I am actually a bit surprised that he needed to use chloroform to make overcoming her easier, but if it serves as a clue for Tracy, so much the better….

To the creative team: the politically correct term for “vampires” is now “ex-spouses.”
