My personal motto is “It’s better to have and not need, than to need and not have”.

Of course it doesn’t apply in this scenario, but it’s still sound advice.

When I was younger, my motto was “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing”.

If Nancy keeps overeating, she will soon have her Pie in the Sky.
