Do a lot of drying clothes outside. Then when I tried to use the dryer, paper wasps had a nest in the exhaust flapper wedging it shut!

Ah, so it’s self-emptying now!

Every load, maybe halfway through on a big load

I usually only bother to clear it after the towel load’s done. Makes it easier to clean it. :D

We have a huge commercial dryer, the lint trap is about 8" square. It gets rather full some times.

That, or it’s lambing season, genius.

A plugged lint trap can cause a fire. Our house in Oregon when I was a kid nearly caught on fire because of that.

too full lint traps don’t do that, but they can catch fire.

Hmm, you know … it just. might. be… ☺

He’s not the only one who didn’t do the job…..

I haven’t seen a dryer with an external lint trap outside of a laundromat.

He should be so lucky. Usually if you neglect emptying the lint trap it will catch on fire.

The dryer was made by NASA…

when we updated our laundry area and our contractor told us to empty the lint trap after every load, my thought was ‘people don’t do that already?’

You’re lucky it isn’t on fire. Lint traps are a major cause of garage fires.
