Hey those trees will grow anywhere, and yes that is a problem at Mt. Rushmore

I grew up in the Dakotas, and my family had a cottage in the Black Hills, a couple of miles from Rushmore, so I visited it many times. When North By Northwest came out I was fascinated to learn that the modern house in the movie atop Rushmore was really there. I was anxious to find the road to the top to see it. But it didn’t take long for me to figure out that it only existed in the film.
