I watched a documentary yesterday on an Amazon “fulfillment center” in G.B. I wish I could have seen the brand name on the “robots” (sorta Roombas on steroids) that carry the warehouse shelving to the “pickers”. I was impressed how the human who had to go out on the warehouse floor to pick up a product that had fallen out of a shelf wore a radio broadcaster that kept the robots from running into him. Also impressive was the separation of the packing and labeling processes so no employee gets to see what any individual has bought. But most impressive to me was the device that applies the shipping label to the carton with a little blast of air so the most delicate products can never get damaged. Is this a great time to be alive or what?! Oh, wait. I almost forgot the pandemic. So I take back that last part.
I’m sitting her staring at a huge pile of cardboard, myself. Amazon, Bath and Body Works, Ebay, and many more…..“Many trees died to get my items to me”…. ; )
My garbage service has reduced the frequency of how often they are picking up recycling, which is terrible timing now that most of us have more boxes. I’ve stopped ordering unless I really need it, but still have a full bin every time. I wish they’d go back to picking up weekly.
My neighborhood had an electronic recycling and paper shredding event today. I loaded up a big cart full of old stuff and took it over. So great to get rid of it.
Boy can I relate to this! I wonder if she disinfects her boxes before she opens them. I’m so paranoid that I disinfect just about everything before it comes in my house. Sad, but true. As for the boxes, fortunately, we have a recycling center where we can take ours.

I’m saving mine for when I move – which I planned on doing this summer, and then the pandemic hit…

Now you have another problem. It’s less than 3 months till Christmas and you don’t know what everybody wants.

Hey—at least she’s recycling the old boxes, instead of just pitching them …
