There exists a subset of chiropractors who use the same trick as Lulu Hurst and claim it is a diagnostic treatment. Bunch of fakes. One of them told me I had a malfunctioning valve which, as a biologist, I know does not exist.
I have the opinion that the lyrics the Kingsmen sang included merged words so the listener could hear either clean or dirty lyrics. For example if they sang, “Luck your girl all kinds of ways,” you could hear “Love,” or the “f” word depending on whether you focused on the initial sound of the “L” or the ending of the “uck.” That’s my conspiracy theory.
The English learned long ago that you don’t row a boat with your feet.
Abraham Lincoln may have predicted Lulu’s performances saying “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
Beginning in 1964 the FBI spent 31 months investigating ‘Louie, Louie’. 8 keggers and 6 disturbing the peace violations later they turned their attention to Dr. Martin Luther King.
August 19 – 21, 1983, college radio station KFJC, 89.7, Los Altos plays 63 hours straight of Louie, Louie. More than 800 unique arrangements covering all genres, classical, rock, R & B, ska, jazz and even electronic. I have 19 and ½ of those hours on cassette tape. Great road trip music for the first 45 minutes. Good stuff.
The ultimate FBI conclusion was that in the Kingsmen version, the words were completely unintelligible and therefore couldn’t be held to be dirty. As to whether the unintelligible nature was intentional or not, the FBI had no comment.
It would be interesting to put modern AI methods onto that recording, to see if computers could extract meaning!
Lee Spencer IS able-bodied, obviously! Do you really think having a prosthetic leg hindered him in the slightest? That was poorly worded on your part, Ripley’s. He’d probably be insulted by it.

Spencer was a Royal Marine so his beret should have been green not red.

The FBI would later investigate the theory that Paul McCartney was dead. The case has remained unsolved to this day. Believe it or Not.

If he did it in a pedal boat, that would be an item.

I wonder how many hours a day Mr. Spencer spent rowing to average a little over 63 miles per day?

Guess the FBI thought the lyrics were “Hoover Hoover, oh yeah, you gotta go now.”

Investigating the FBI is the one of the most revealing and disappointing of all investigations.

Sounds to me like Mr. Spencer was plenty able-bodied.

The FBI under J Edgar Hoover carried out some bizzare investigations. Probably due to J Edgar’s paranoid nature.

The song, Louie Louie, was always a song of controversy. As a teen when it came out, we were all trying to figure out what the words were.
