Don’t fret now, Charlie Brown, the yuge Orange Rat in the WH is letting his buddies strip the Tongass National Forest, and has reversed a multitude of environmental protections. That, coupled with accelerating global warming, will keep you and the gang busy just trying to survive.
I was surprised by the wildfires in California. I had thought that there was nothing left to burn.
More frequent droughts, caused by a natural phenomenon that we’re not supposed to talk about for fear of offending he who must be humored, have made tinderboxes out our western forests and threaten to turn midwestern farms back into a dust bowl.
Back East we’ve had record rainfall over the past decade and even hurricanes well beyond the end of hurricane season which is supposed to be November 1st. Ask the people on the Gulf Coast who are probably still doing the backstroke if they agree.
How many billions of dollars do we have to spend to mitigate these disasters not to mention the loss of human life?
Paying attention to the environment has a negative impact on the economy. Human lives and livelihoods are not a concern of the GOP – $$$ is the only thing they understand.
Mother Nature is only going to take so much before she’s had enough and turns on us.
On a lighter note … one year we needed a small tree for our cramped apartment. The guy on the tree lot said, “Oh, you’re lookin’ for one of those ‘Charlie Brown’ Christmas trees”.
And they wouldn’t have that much wildfires, if they would cut away the dead wood. That’s where the environmentalists need a kick in the ass. If they’re really in that much for saving the environment, you need to use common sense. Which they don’t!

Not much to say here, except sympathy for the affected and prayers for the lost.
