I couldn’t resist this punch line. Word play made my strip almost impossible to translate into other languages. Foreign papers either had to make a direct translation or change the dialogue completely! The best translators were often cartoonists themselves!
I tend to purchase/pay for Christmas gifts throughout the year, or at least starting in September. That makes the bill pay a lot less painful. Do banks still have “Christmas Clubs?”
This is 1991, so look at the bright side John. Saddam Hussein has been defeated and the USSR is now in the dustbin of history. Two murderous regimes got X’d out.

After math is Algebra. I dislike accounting but with my piddly account, I could do it with an abacus.

The demands for payment for your over spending on Christmas gifts, is your punishment for buying too many things, which are already forgotten about.

I never have that issue. I set money aside all year and when I Christmas shop, I can pay in full at the time of purchase. No after Christmas bills.

I don’t have this problem; I don’t have a credit card. I pay cash and budget responsibly.
