I hope everyone realizes that Santa doesn’t look like that in real life and that he passed away in the 19th century when he was 82.

I have to play virtual Santa at our annual Christmas party this afternoon. This Santa might be opening for me

December Sixth is Saint Nicholas Day. Traditionally it was the day my dearly departed spouse would put on his Santa hat and wear it until sometime in January when he felt like taking it off. He loved spooking the little kids! He would smirk at adults giving him their Christmas Wish List. And once… he got a deep throat kiss! He loved the roll so much… he asked for a t-shirt to be painted for a Dark Santa for Halloween. It is red with black trim, and says Ho-Ho-Ho in bones… it goes well with the black trim cap we found. In my depressed state… I might wear that t-shirt on Sunday. No one will see it… because I don’t go anywhere. But… it might spark a bit of closeness. I know it is making tears for writing the idea. But it is a bit of mischief… and he would have enjoyed that part.

I was sitting, waiting for jury duty when a judge came down to tell us what was going on in the courtroom. He had long white hair and a beard.

He said, “I tell the defendants, yes, I am Santa. But I’m not your Santa.”

The room broke up.

I picture Santa’s chosen jazz instrument as being the double bass, with perhaps Charles Mingus being his idol.

Jolly old St. Nick looks a little introspective right about now. Seems like Burgermeister Meisterberger has taken over the world. Christmas is canceled. Who’d a thunk it?

And it’s all Trump’s fault! He never should have opened the blinds so people could see the depth of corruption in their government.

December 15th, is Bill of Rights day. On this day in 1791 the First Amendment was ratified for a reason over a hundred others.

From what I’m seeing at the amount of trucks I’m seeing, Christmas is definitely not cancelled. It may be a bit different for those that actually love their loved ones. Others after Christmas will be wondering why God didn’t keep them from getting Covid19, and praying they don’t have to go to funerals as relative test positive for the hoax.

In the meantime, people are ordering record numbers of parcels this Christmas. Which has to be hard to watch for those that are struggling to make ends meet.

More relevant to the cartoon, I really missed going to any of the local blues festivals this year. Especially, The Chicago Blues Fest. Sure the beer is a bit pricey, but the festival is free, so why quibble over a few beers. Plus, you’d be hard pressed to find a better line up anywhere, anytime. Especially when you can just show up to the pavilion early and sit down front row for legends like Mavis Staples.

It would figure next year was the first year I could have made it across the pond to WOMAD (more variety of music), but that will have to keep for the following year.
