Last week while I was at my local gas station, a guy in front of me was fueling up his truck with his engine running.I was a bit nervous about it and at last he put the hose back on the pump. Totally unaware about any static electricity that could happen while he was doing all this… Makes one wonder and hold his breath and hope for the best ! A lot of people using their cell phone while gassing up their car are hard for me to watch as well.

I don’t see the part of the equation that makes the drips fall on your shoe so you get to stink up the car for the next 100 miles.

I hate the guy that made it so I have to stand there and hold it in just right to keep the gas from shutting off.

To avoid drips I always just turn nozzle end upward before withdrawing from tank.

Mythbusters did multiple gas station experiments and there have to be some VERY specific things to cause a fire at the pump.
