Yay Kitty’s back, and in time for Christmas! I know you had your own ideas about cats, and you found out cat’s can be very nice people. I commend you for overcoming your prejudices and giving Kitty a chance, and now you are buddies. A lot of people can learn from your example
Glad to hear that they are new friends but I think either Jock or Yorky should remain Fred’s best friend. I think Yorky is a better friend than Jock as he is more courageous and Jock sometimes steals Fred’s bones.
My Shiba Inu adopted two kittens from a litter of my daughter’s cat. One a white long hair the other a short hair gray. They were inseparable for many years. When the dog passed over the rainbow bridge at the age of 19, the two cats mourned his passing for weeks, sleeping in his crate, on his blanket, and hiding his toys in his usual napping spots. People should demonstrate such a bond, ya think?
Jaws of Death, my 90 lb. gentle-as-a-lamb pit bull, will let the cats push him away from his food bowl. The other dog, though, is highly protective of his food to the point I keep the cats separated while he’s eating. Glad to see that Fred is tolerant.
Glad to see Kitty back. This kitty is going to need a name, even if it is Kitty or Cat. My uncle had a cat named Cat. She was a stray who decided to move in and keep their other cat (Bandit) company. They called her Cat because they thought she was just passing through. They decided to keep Cat when they discovered that Cat would catch two birds and give the first one to Bandit. Bandit was badly cross-eyed and couldn’t hunt — didn’t need to, since he got fed cat food regularly, but Cat didn’t understand that part until later. She got fed, too, of course, once they decided to keep her.
Our miniature schnauzer’s best buddy is a grey and black cat we found as a kitten at the local hospital. It’s funny, but the two of them are almost found together at all times.
So I was trying to research how to contact Alex Graham, only to learn he’s been dead since 1991. The comic is now done by his daughter Arran Keith. Am I the only one who didn’t know this? The reason I was researching was to ask Graham to consider truly making the cat a permanent character. Guess I will see if I can contact her…

Hopefully, the cat is now a part of the family for good. Fred now has a new friend in the house.

He’d better not tell Jock and Yorky about the cat’s status.
