I don’t think that the credit companies do that now! Though, I could be wrong! With me, if I don’t have the “cash” in my checking/savings account…I DON’T buy that “item!!”
This was the perfect year for handmade gifts. We had so much fun with the grandkids teaching them crafts. One built a birdhouse, one learned to knit and so on. The gifts were all unique and heartfelt. Maybe started a new tradition at our house.
I was once rejected for a Lowe’s Account because I had very little “Credit History”. Perhaps they should have thought of why that was. Because I paid my bills promptly and never took out loans. Sheesh!
I used to think the credit card companies hated me too because I never carried a monthly balance. Although they don’t make any money from me in interest on my purchases they still make money from the merchants on the transaction. That’s why some gas stations have different prices for cash and credit and some smaller businesses offer a cash discount. And why some banks want you to use your debit card as a credit card purchase. Even though the money comes directly out of your account they still get the credit card transaction fee from the seller. As if they don’t make enough money off us with all their fees and surcharges!
Credit card companies want you to use “funny math” where your credit limit is some kind of “balance”. Of course, they will raise your credit limit, assuming you have any assets. If you cannot pay, they sell off your debt and move on.
To no one in particular, I don’t see the point in harassing some poor employee who has to open the mail, and who can’t do a thing about the company policy. And the last thing that I want to do is get flagged as a troublemaker by a company that allows me full credit without ever paying them any interest.

They hate me. I keep mine paid off so no interest payments, but still get points good for free stuff.

Hook ‘em up and reel ’em in. You’ll have it paid off by next Christmas shopping season, when it will be time to start over…..

I noticed that the house and congress never ask “How much money do we have to spend”
