It was a very big turkey. I speak from experience. Hopefully we will finally be rid of it today.

Leftovers go through 3 stages at my house.

1. “It’s still OK.”

2. “Don’t eat that. Give it to the dog.”

3. “Don’t feed that to the dog. Let your father eat it.”

The answer is, “we’re only halfway through the Thanksgiving turkey”

After you clean your plate I rescue them from the trash can.

It’s a gift.

This was an issue for me and my wife when we first got married. She cooked like her mother taught her how to cook: for 5 people.

It came to the point where I had to invite my bachelor friends over. They were happy to eat “table scraps.”

My wife still overcooks. However, we have an adult son who lives in town, we send him food about once a week.

There’s always the FREEZER! Cook and freeze for another day….

Simple. I cook every meal a day in advance so I can reheat it for you the next day.

The meal was too weak to begin with, hence, 14 days.

Mrs makes a BIG pot of borscht, seems to be enough for 100 people. I don’t think it make it 14 days. I’ll have to mark the calendar next time she makes it.

You don’t eat them then they’re still left over

Instant leftovers: Make a large batch of something, and freeze in portions. Do it five or six times, and you have over a month’s worth of dinners, without having to eat the same thing two days in a row.

When I lived alone, I cooked a big casserole and ate it for the next week. Now there are two of us, husband has a problem with leftovers. I’ve tried cooking two big somethings and alternating them, but he seems to notice.

By you being smart enough not to eat them 13 days in a row…

Easy, what you don’t eat goes back in the pot. Remember, she did waitress in a restaurant for a bit.

Cook full meals for a few days. The second time around they are leftovers. After that you have Smorgasbord – a combination of whatever is remaining.

A hind quarter lasts a long time. It was only 49 cents a pound…

All the customers are celebrating pass over.

She didn’t say whose leftovers they were.

Made too much the first day…….

I never told my guys they were left overs so after all the years they reminisce about the gourmet meals of yore.
