Do kids still sent thank you notes?. I think it’s sad that my grandkids do not send me one. I have to email my son and ask if the gifts came. No manners nor gratitude. Shameful.

Perhaps grandma is poor and has nothing to send?!

Sarcasm runs deep in that family.

I like Grandma.When I first moved to Europe and people still wrote letters, I would occasionally send a friend or relative a postcard with a photo of “El Cachorro”, a famous crucifix (the artist witnessed a gypsy die of stab wounds gained in a bar fight). On the back I would write, “Are you dead?” Always got a response.

If I thanked them in person, I never understood the need to send a thank you letter, as well. Currently, if I receive a gift by mail, etc… I will either call, email, or text the sender to let them know I am grateful. If that is not good enough, I don’t need the gift in the first place.

Checking is something you can only learn from experience!

Way to go, Grandma! As much as he complains about it sarcasm does seem to work on Calvin.

One yr for Christmas I got a stuffed animal, my dad lost his job ,my mom took odd jobs just to help keep a roof over our heads!! Times were tough !!!

My parents made me do this. I’ve gotten lazy. I now make a phone call.

It may be a matter of economics. Back in my day it was a lot cheaper to send a letter than to make a phone call.

I sort of liked sending a note to say thanks for the present, what I hated was trying to write “some more” like my Mom wanted me to do. I mean really, what else is there to say?

The world needs more sarcastic grannies.

Have a cousin like that. Decided to send an empty card this year (no cash) to see if she was getting the mail.

I like Grandma’s sensibility.

Have we ever seen Calvin’s grandma in the strip? The only other relative I can remember is his uncle, his father’s brother, who stayed with them for a week. But other than that I can’t think of any other relatives depicted.

How’s everyone’s day today?

My grandkids have seen a combined 29 Christmases with presents and I’m still waiting for a thank-you of any kind.

Now we know where Calvin gets his sarcasm from!

Since my Grandkids/nieces never send thank you notes, I think it is time to use Grandma’s tact. I sent (lots of) money to my Grand niece for her college graduation. No thank you note!
