I remember posters of Golda Meir, Prime Minister of Israel, when women didn’t hold important offices. They were captioned, “But can she type?” My university was very feminist and according to my parents, communistic and everything else bad in their minds.
In all seriousness, there was a point in time where a Southern woman who couldn’t even make biscuits & gravy was basically considered unsuitable for marriage.

Again, Why is it that when famous women are mentioned, EVERYBODY “forgets” to mention Madame Curie??

Being first is not all that important. It is what you accomplish that counts.
(Which…come to think of it…may be why I am not found in history books…)
